The project ultimately produced more than 18,000 drawings documenting everything from furniture and toys to textiles, signs, folk sculpture—and marionettes. National Gallery of Art

This set collects 20 of the collection’s most unusual marionette designs, preserving their hand-painted colors, eccentric costumes, expressive faces, and unmistakable folk-art character. Originally intended as documentary records, the drawings have an uncanny personality of their own: part theater history, part American folk art, and part beautifully bizarre visual archive.

Each image has been carefully selected and reproduced as a 4 × 6 inch postcard, suitable for mailing, framing, collecting, or displaying as a set.

Set includes 20 different postcards.
