Vintage American Chair Postcard Set — 20 Illustrated Chair Postcards — Index of American Design — Furniture & Rustic Art Prints

Various Chairs! — Vintage American Chair Postcard Set - Im really excited about this one for some reason

A wonderfully varied collection of American chairs, from humble ladder-backs and rocking chairs to painted, upholstered, and highly decorative examples, drawn from the Index of American Design.
Created during the 1930s and early 1940s as part of the Federal Art Project, the Index of American Design documented American folk and decorative arts through thousands of carefully rendered watercolor illustrations. Artists recorded furniture, textiles, toys, signs, tools, household objects, and other pieces of everyday material culture from collections across the country.

This set brings together 20 distinctive chair designs, each reproduced from those original illustrations. Taken together, they form a small visual history of American furniture: practical, handmade, eccentric, elegant, and sometimes wonderfully odd.

Each design is reproduced as a 4 × 6 inch postcard, perfect for mailing, collecting, framing, decorating, or giving to anyone with an interest in vintage furniture, folk art, interiors, or American design history.

Set includes 20 different postcards. Printed in the USA.

Each image has been carefully selected and reproduced as a 4 × 6 inch postcard, suitable for mailing, framing, collecting, or displaying as a set.
